owners choose one of the following methods when caring for their property here
in Spain, which one do you use?
Lock it up , leave it and hope for the best method
Can work for a small
apartment, especially if this on a development where there is access to
maintenance and security services. Simply "abandoning" your property in this way
is risky for many obvious reasons so many use this method until they experience
the inevitable problems that arise.
Trusted Friend or Neighbour Method
The owner asks a
local neighbour or friend to look after their property whilst they are away.
This method can be reliable and cheap. Sometimes the arrangement often ends in
tears when they have a problem or put under any serious pressure. The result can
all to often end a previously good Friendship.
The

Man Band Method
It is
worth paying a
commercial fee to have an experienced safe pair of hands to entrust your
property to. Due to a lack of resources because of the size of this type of property management
it often brings it's own problems. There is a far greater risk that their services
will laps due to illness, holidays, or even decide to move on and you can bet
it's just when you needed them the most.
Although they are
sometimes
successful and appear to expand, unfortunately there comes a point when their service levels start to decline and
complacency sets in, in addition

of these small One Man Bands also work outside the official system , no
insurance, not licensed to operate and the favorite the tax man starts showing
an interest and they simply disappear!
